After the self-evaluation of its educational programme for 2019-2020, the HAEU presents now its educational and training offers for the school year 2020-2021.
This year’s programme focuses on themes related to the Schuman Declaration of 9 May 1950, such as solidarity, peace, European citizenship, and mobility. These key elements of European integration have been highlighted in the recent multi-lingual exhibition on the 70th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration.
The educational programme aims to provide a historical and cultural background to the younger generations of Europeans to promote awareness of European citizenship and the written memory preserved at the Historical Archives of the EU. It is conceived as civic education with a transversal approach, both from the point of view of the methodologies applied and the topics offered.
Organised in collaboration with FMA, the Former Member Association of the European Parliament, the school programme involves former MEPs meeting and sharing their experiences in European politics and views on the EU with the students.
Taking into account the Covid-19 emergency, the HAEU offers the possibility of distance learning mode (DaD).
The educational offers specific to the different school levels are available here.
The HAEU’s education team is organising a series of online training sessions for school teachers which can be adapted to other subjects and languages upon request. The ongoing project is organised in collaboration with the Direzione Istruzione del Comune di Firenze and with the participation of the EUI's Engaged Academics network. The online sessions aim at bringing together teachers and discussing issues the European Union is currently facing in relation to the Covid-19 health emergency and challenges to democracy and citizenship.
The full programme of these online training sessions is available on the Florentine Chiavi della Città platform.
