The University Association for Contemporary European Studies (UCAES) offers a scholarship for a PhD student or Early-Career researcher to visit the Historical Archives of the European Union (HAEU) in Florence and conduct archival research for a period of 5 to 10 working days.
The scholarship is organised in partnership with the James Madison Charitable Trust and targets UACES students or early-career members conducting research in European Studies or a related field (e.g. Politics, International Relations, Law, History, Sociology, Economics, Cultural Studies).
The successful applicant will be offered a grant of £1300, including £1000 to cover travel, accommodation and subsistence in Florence, and £300 to cover costs for attending the UACES Annual Conference in 2021 to be held in Liverpool. The selected grant holder is expected to submit a paper or panel proposal for the UACES Annual Conference.
