Risk Management
The European University Institute’s (EUI) Risk Management Framework is structured in three sections: The Risk Management Policy, outlining the guiding principles; the Risk Management Process, outlining the practical implementation of Risk Management; and corresponding annexes.
This framework formalises a structured approach to managing risk across all units of the EUI, both administrative and academic, as part of the Internal Control Framework. It aims to assist the organisation in integrating risk management into its strategic planning, annual reporting, and the budgetary cycle.
In addition, the framework seeks to foster a culture of risk management across the planning, monitoring and reporting of EUI’s activities at all levels.
A permanent Central Risk Register has been established in accordance with SG Decision No. 5/2021, while IAO has given several respective presentations for training purposes.
Crisis Management
With President’s Decision 48/2023, the EUI has established a Crisis Management Team and Crisis Management Framework, comprising a Crisis Management Policy and practical guidelines for facing crises of varying natures. The Framework aims to ensure a fast and effective institutional response to potential threats to the safety and security of the EUI community and the continuity of EUI activities.
