Dear Prospective Students for the AI and Law Summer School,
We are overjoyed to announce that the 2025 Summer School will take place in person and online at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. The course will take place over five days: from Monday, 7 July to Friday, 11 July.
The Summer School on AI and Law is held on a yearly basis. It is jointly hosted by the European University Institute (Florence, Italy) and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law (U.S.A.). It is also sponsored by Cirsfid-University of Bologna (Italy), the University of Utrecht (the Netherlands), and the ERC project CompuLaw. The summer school will take place at European University Institute, Sala del Consiglio, Villa Salviati.
The course will cover topics including expert systems, argumentation, machine learning, legal forecasting, large language models, natural language processing for law, regulation of legal AI, and AI and law in practice. Some of our students may also be interested in the Summer School on Law and Logic, which is also planned to take place in Florence in a hybrid format from Monday, 30 June to Saturday, 5 July, and is sponsored by the European University Institute and the Harvard Law School.
