Africa, in all its diversity, is home to more than one billion people. It has become one of the most rapidly changing continents whose future demographic and economic growth will have a significant impact globally. Home to the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), Africa is creating an entirely new development path, harnessing the potential of its resources and people.
In a continental effort of transformation, in 2015, the African Union adopted the "Agenda 2063: Africa We Want", which envisages all African countries moving to middle-income status, powered by knowledge-based economies. Advancing sustainable governance, development, and innovation will contribute to aligning the continent’s growth with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to the Africa-EU Partnership.
The EUI, as a transnational hub of interdisciplinary research and higher learning, uniting scholars, practitioners and policy makers, hosts an array of activities linked to key African topics. It offers education and training to African participants, responding to concrete training needs and policy-making challenges.
Contacts
The EUI welcomes African scholars and policy specialists and seeks collaborations with African stakeholders from academic institutions; national, regional, sub-regional and local organisations; civil society; corporations; and the media.
