Opening doors to the future
The EUI contributes to a better society through excellent research and training in the social sciences and humanities.
Whether you join the Institute as a student, PhD researcher, fellow or seasoned policy expert: the EUI opens doors to a better understanding of a changing world.
The EUI: opening doors to the future
Our identity embodies the EUI’s history as well as its future direction, anchoring itself to the Institute’s core values and convictions. We work on innovative ideas, but stay true to our original mission to contribute to the development of Europe.
We have captured what the Institute stands for in our vision, ambition, mission and values.
Visually, the identity’s elements of continuity and change after our 2021 rebranding are plain to see.
The historical bell tower of the Badia Fiesolana, the nexus of EUI campus life, continues to feature in our new logo. The tower now has a simplified and modernised design.
An arch, a symbol of an open door or window, replaces the closed shape of a square. It echoes the values and personality of the Institute: open-mindedness, academic freedom, curiosity and connection.
Our colours
The EUI’s main blue colour set refers to our European DNA, while a secondary colour palette recalls our connection with Tuscany, reflecting the characteristic shades of our buildings and surrounding landscapes.
Using the EUI logo
EUI has one logo, which is available in various combinations with the names of its departments and programmes. The choice of logo, file format and resolution depends on your communication needs.
