The topic will be discussed with three historians from the EUI who have experience working in video games and public history:
Lauren Kassell, EUI History Professor, will share her insights from acting as a historical consultant for Astrologaster (2019), a computer and Nintendo Switch video game that explores astrology and early modern medicine. Next, Elisa Chazal, EUI History researcher, will present her one-screen video game ‘Les Chroniques d’Ana’ inspired by her PhD thesis on historical reconstructions in fin-de-siècle Europe. Finally, Anastasia Remes, an EUI alumna and archivist at the Historical Archives of the European Union, will showcase her virtual exhibition based on her PhD research about the 1958 Expo in Brussels.
This will be an informal event held in a cozy and friendly environment, where we will also have the chance to play different games and digital experiences. We invite you to join us—come and press start!
