Funded research visits for PhD students under EUI Widening Europe Programme

The EUI Widening Europe Programme supports research visits for PhD students enrolled at higher education institutions or public research centres in eligible targeted Widening countries.

The EUI Widening Europe Programme invites PhD researchers from targeted Widening countries to apply for a funded research visit at the European University Institute (EUI).

This special call will provide the opportunity to spend the fall term 2025-2026 at the Department of Political and Social Sciences (SPS), contributing to work with faculty members, enrich their research, and participate in the Institute's activities.

Furthermore, the call includes visiting opportunities at the Department of History for the term October-December 2025. 

Candidates must be enrolled in a PhD programme in one of the targeted Widening countries and hold nationality from of one of the countries listed below:

Inside the European Union: Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

Outside the European Union: Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo1, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Moldova, and Ukraine.
