The signing of the agreement took place at the EUI's Badia Fiesolana, where EUI President, Professor Renaud Dehousse, welcomed Professor Martin Kohli.
The cooperation between the EUI and Kohli Foundation aims to promote and implement collaborative initiatives and activities in regard to sociological knowledge and to the discipline of sociology and related research.
Under the newly signed agreement, the Kohli Foundation will fund one new Kohli Fellowship at the EUI every second year, within the context of the EUI's Max Weber Fellowship Programme.
The cooperation will further focus on the organisation of joint events, including the award ceremony of two Science Prizes sponsored by the Kohli Foundation for Sociology, namely the Kohli Prize for Sociology and the Infrastructure Prize for Sociology, which will be held at the EUI every second year.
Based in Berlin, the Kohli Foundation for Sociology pursues the mission of honouring outstanding contributions to sociological knowledge and thereby advancing the study of societies.
