Course description
This course will help you feel more comfortable following and participating in seminars.
Echoing most research seminars, each session is organised around a piece of written text. You will be expected to read this text beforehand in order to marshall your arguments for discussion, as well as preparing any vocabulary elements you are unfamiliar with.
During each session you will practice various elements of discussion skills such as coming into the discussion, interrupting, keeping the floor etc. You will also practice elements of pronunciation that are important for comprehension such as stress in words, certain sounds, etc.
As always, if there are specific areas that particularly concern you do let us know and we will do our best to incorporate them into the course.
