Advertising Europe Film Collection now available at HAEU

To celebrate the UNESCO World Day for Audiovisual Heritage on 27 October 2019, the Historical Archives of the European Union is pleased to announce the addition of the "Advertising Europe Film Collection" to its repository. The database holds detailed information on over 250 information films which promoted the idea of European integration between the late 1940s until the early 1970s.

On Wednesday, 16 October at 16:00,The Department for European Politics, which is part of the Italian Presidency of the Council of Ministers, will host the conference "Il percorso di democratizzazione dell' Unione Europea" . During the conference, the organizers of the travelling exhibition "Ever Closer Union", including HAEU Director Dieter Schlenker, will illustrate the project which has been launched in 2017 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the signature of the Rome Treaties and has been presented in more than 120 European and non-European locations so far.

AMICE's historical archives were deposited at the HAEU

On September the 20th, a new archival deposit was received by the HAEU. AMICE, the Association of Mutual Insurers and Insurance Cooperatives in Europe, decided to ship its archives to Villa Salviati for preservation and accessibility to researchers.

Dr Bastian Matteo Scianna, holder of a research grant from the European People's Party, conducted research at the HAEU with the aim to show the crucial influence of both Christian Democrats in national governments as well as the European People's Party in the European Parliament in the process of abolishing border controls between European Community member states.
