The longitudinal Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP) is designed to reveal the impact of American federal and state level government programmes on the well-being of American families. SIPP, which is undertaken by the U.S. Census Bureau, provides observations about the income and programme participation of individuals and households. Data on cash and non-cash income on a sub-annual basis is provided. The survey also includes data on taxes, assets, liabilities and participation in government transfer programmes.
