Katrin Kolb

 

Kathrin Kolb was born in Schweinfurt, Germany (1981). She studied sociology at the Otto-Friedrich-University Bamberg where she received her diploma degree in 2007. In her diploma thesis she studied educational aspirations and reproduction of unequal educational opportunities.

From October 2002 to May 2007 she was working as a student research assistant. She took part in the GLOBALIFE project, the DFG-project "Flexibility Forms at Labor Market Entry and in the Early Career" (flexCAREER), as well as in the BiKS project (“Bildungsprozesse, Kompetenzentwicklung und Selektionsentscheidungen im Vor- und Grundschulalter”) at the University of Bamberg.

Currently she is engaged in the project “Household Wealth Inequality in International Comparison” as well as in the ERC Advanced Grant project "Education as a Lifelong Process - Comparing Educational Trajectories in Modern Societies (eduLIFE)" as a research scientist. Her special interests are in life courses, education, social inequality and wealth inequality.
