Software

EUI's office computers are based on a standard Windows-based software configuration loaded with a set of standard core (or Base ) software. Additional software can be made availvable to eligible users from EUI's standard Software Catalogue.

Some software from the Catalogue can be made available to personally-owned laptops of eligible EUI members, wheras some very specific research software is made available throught EUI's HPC Cluster.

 

 

Base Software

Alle the below software, part of the EUI coreload configuration, is managed and updated centrally:

  • Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise
  • 7-Zip
  • Adobe Reader DC
  • Crystal Reports Runtime environment 32 and 64bit
  • Java runtime Environment
  • Google Chrome
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Microsoft Office Proofing Tools (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish)
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Oracle Data Provider
  • VLC Media Player
  • Windows Media Player
  • Zoom

 

Software Catalogue

Eligible users may request and/or install directly additonal software, both research-oriented and productivty oriented, from the EUI Software Catalogue.

 

EUI HPC Cluster

 A small yet powerful in-house High-Performance Computing (HPC) cluster is available to eligible EUI members in order to run jobs in parallel mode. Check for eligibility and available software here.

   

Terms & Conditions

  • In order to activate and/or install some of the software, you need first to sign a License Agreement (EULA):
  • Licenses are usually valid for one year and renewal before expiry is the user's responsibility.
  • As per Acceptable Use Policy, any EUI-provided software must be uninstalled once affiliation to the Institute ceases (Alumni are NOT eligible for ANY software).
  • ICT Service will run random checks and remotely revoke licenses from devices of non-eligibile users without prior notice: the EUI can not be held responsible nor liable for any loss of data following such an event.
